Project Engineer

The Project Engineer designs, develops, and manage projects for modifying and maintaining/enlarging facilities in order to improve products and processes and flow of materials.
Dimensions of Job:
Responsible for project management and execution at operations and mine site(s).
Solely responsible for projects from $3,000 - $5,000,000; assists with other large expansion process or plant projects.
Manage multiple projects at the same time.
Manage projects at multi-sites within Georgia operations.
Ensure appropriate supervision of contractor's on-site work force by working with construction Foreman.
Lead safety culture of contractors utilized for project work.
Principal Accountabilities:
Correctly estimate and ensure correct construction by creating mechanical, structural, civil and electrical designs and producing drawings required for installation or modification of plant processes and structures.
Keep plant and mine operating efficiently by assisting maintenance and/or production with operational challenges.
Produce completed projects within budget by preparing project cost estimates for both material, equipment and labor.
Complete projects in a timely manner by tracking and developing schedules/plans and requisitioning certified contract labor.
Select the best-suited process equipment or technology for applications by interacting with production, maintenance and vendors, running trials and staying current on new technology.
Ensure proposed project's adequate ROI by assisting management in making an informed decision through submitting written proposals which include a description of the work to be accomplished, accurate cost estimates for both material and labor, CAD generated design drawings and specifications, justification for expenditures, and an evaluation of economic factors.
Secure the availability of proper equipment, materials, and qualified contract labor for projects by developing and submitting timely requisitions for procurement and hiring.
Ensure quality work is completed in a timely and safe manner by supervising contract workforce and performing housekeeping and safety inspections.
Assist production with new or modified equipment and processes through training, written operating procedures and trial runs.
May perform other duties as relates to Operations.
Major Challenges:
Completing assigned projects on time with the least cost and a minimum of production loss.
Meeting project scope changes by preparing accurate project cost estimates on short notice, without the benefit of complete contract drawings or vendor supplied equipment information.
Creating understanding and acceptance of project needs and requirements through timely communication.
Decision Making Authority:
Directs which processing equipment should be purchased or modified.
Selects certified contractors for construction projects.
Designs layout of processes and processing equipment.
Schedules down-time for construction and repairs.
Decides accuracy of design drawings, specifications, and project estimates.
Competencies:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Chemical Engineering or 15
years' experience working in a plant as an engineering assistant and/or draftsman.
Demonstrated knowledge in drafting and CAD skills.
Ability to apply mechanical reasoning skills.
Knowledge of plant processing and equipment (mining/mineral processing, a plus.
) Ability to use spreadsheets and word processing software.
Familiar with Plant Automation Systems and business systems such as One Call.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
